Board of Directors

Clarksville Regional Economic Development is a nonprofit organization staffed by passionate professionals who connect businesses to valuable resources and relationships. Our board of directors are savvy and make things happen.

Our volunteer board of directors have experience owning and managing a small business, managing complex business operations, and property development. We are co-located with the Clarksville-Johnson County Regional Chamber of Commerce in the historic train depot in downtown Clarksville.

John Payne

John is a retired agriculture extension agent and currently serves as a Justice of the Peace to Johnson County government. In 2017, John was recognized by the Chamber of Commerce as the “Pillar of Progress” citizen award for his leadership with community activities.

John is a former city manager who serves as the current General Manager of Clarksville Light & Water. John was instrumental in the development of our municipal fiber optic system and is currently spearheading the largest municipal solar project in the state.

Julie is the President of Whitson – Morgan Motor Company, which has multiple dealerships in the River Valley. She has been a member of the board since 2018.
Chris Allen
Chris Allen
Chris retired as plant manager from a large manufacturing company here in Clarksville and continues to live and play in Johnson County. He is actively engaged in the community. Chris is also chairman of the Johnson Regional Medical Center board of directors and enjoys chasing big fish in the many rivers and lakes nearby.

Freeman has served the City of Clarksville for 10 years as an City Councilman. His is a CPA and is the CFO for the Clarksville School District. Freeman was formerly a partner in a local accounting firm.

Harve is an experienced developer of professional and commercial properties. His holdings are multi-state, including owning office properties in Clarksville.

AO is a second generation owner of Curran Title in downtown Clarksville. AO is a property owner in downtown Clarksville, and serves on the University of the Ozarks Board of Trustees.

Matt serves as President of First Security Bank in Clarksville. He served as the CREDO’s first chairman and facilitated the launch of the organization.

Margot is retired from a Multi-national corporation where she served as the director of human resources. Margot serves on the West Central Arkansas Workforce Development board of directors.

Richard Dunsworth serves as the President of the University of the Ozarks. The University is a major employer and has a large economic impact on the area.

A licensed Farm Bureau Insurance Agent, Kris is also a real estate investor and serves on the County Quorum Court.
